From the North (Burlington, Middlebury)

Proceed south on U.S. 7.

At the intersection of U.S. 4 east and U.S. 7 (North Main Street), begin counting traffic lights.

The intersection's landmarks are Royal's Hearthside Restaurant on the right and a Speedi Lube & Service gas station on the left.

Counting the light at the above intersection as the first, and including caution lights, take a right at the fourth traffic light onto Washington Street.

Proceed straight down a hill and into a shopping center parking lot. The shopping center faces Merchants Row, the street where the bankruptcy court is located.

Parking Information

From the South (Brattleboro, Bennington)

Proceed north on U.S. 7.

At the intersection of Allen Street and U.S. 7 (South Main Street), begin counting traffic lights. The intersection's landmarks are McDonald's on the right and the Vermont State Fairgrounds on the left. Move into the left lane at this intersection.

Counting the light at the above intersection as the first, take a left at the third traffic light onto Strongs Avenue; following signs to the Business District. The landmarks at this intersection are Dunkin' Donuts on the right and KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) on the left.

At the second light (Washington Street intersection), turn left into the shopping center parking lot. At some point along Strongs Avenue, the street name changes to Merchants Row, the street where the bankruptcy court is located.

Parking Information

From the East (White River Junction, Woodstock)

Proceed west on U.S. 4 (Woodstock Avenue) to its intersection with U.S. 7 (North Main Street). The landmark is the CVS pharmacy straight ahead at the intersection.

Turn left (south) onto U.S. 7 (North Main Street), then begin counting traffic lights, including caution lights.

At the third traffic light, turn right onto Washington Street.

Proceed straight, down a hill and into a shopping center parking lot. The shopping center faces Merchants Row, the street where the bankruptcy court is located.

From the West (Castleton, Fair Haven, New York State)

Proceed east on U.S. 4 to its intersection with U.S. 7. The landmark is a traffic light and the entrance to Diamond Run Mall.

Turn left (north) onto U.S. 7.

At the intersection of Allen Street and U.S. 7 (South Main Street), begin counting traffic lights. The intersection's landmarks are McDonald's on the right and the Vermont State Fairgrounds on the left. Move into the left lane at this intersection.

Travel via Vermont Transit Bus

The Vermont Transit bus station is located directly across from a shopping center. Follow the walking directions listed in the second paragraph of the Parking Information section below.

Parking Information

Park in the lot on the right of the shopping center (in the vicinity of the Wal-mart store). If space is unavailable, use the lot on the left side or use the parking garage to the far right. All parking is free, including the garage. However, shopping center lot parking is limited to three hours.

Walk north on Merchants Row (Wal-Mart will be on the left side). Proceed about one and a half blocks. The bankruptcy court is on the left side of the street, at 67 Merchants Row, in a building named The Opera House. Take the stairs to the second floor. For persons who have difficulty climbing stairs, follow the signs to the elevator. Press the intercom button at the elevator landing and follow the verbal instructions from the U.S. Marshal. Court users are asked to walk through a security screening station similar to those found in airports.
