Credit counseling
Within 180 days before you file a bankruptcy petition, you must (with some exceptions) receive an individual or group briefing from an approved counseling agency which explains the opportunities available and helps you perform a budget analysis. The Court maintains a list of those agencies approved. As of February 1 2006 they are the following:
